A Word A Day

I subscribe to AWAD, and though I enjoy learning new words and even occasionally remembering them, I also really enjoy the quotes included at the end of each email.
Today's quote was this:

If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. It it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day. -E.B. White, writer (1899-1985)

I think this ties very well to the Pope's recent message: "Benedict XVI warned of the danger of falling into 'hardness of heart' as a result of excessive daily occupations. " That is from a Zenit article dated August 20, 2006.
