Happy New Year, Catholics

It is the beginning of a new Liturgical Year. One purple candle, please.

Lest you think, based on my few latest posts, that our holiday preparations all consist of origami and secular designs like gingerbread boys, I just want to say that although those are good clean fun, we also do the traditional advent wreath, celebrate St. Nicholas Day, etc. I will not be taking the time to post in depth about our religious preparations as so many others around the blogosphere are doing it so well, much better than I would hope to do, this year anyway.

If you're interested and haven't seen enough about home and family religious preparations, go and check out this post by Family in Feast and Feria. It is full of links and represents a lot of time spent collecting, organizing, and summarizing by the author.
