Taking photos

Found out something new today. My camera has a feature called White Balance. Among other things, it helps you get your colors right in different kinds of light. BUT it doesn't work when your camera is set to Auto. So. Now I know and perhaps I'll take better pictures on cloudy or shady days, or under those lovely fluorescent lights in my kitchen, or whenever things just don't look right.

A lot of cameras will have a list of White Balance presets like: indoor, outdoor, underwater, night, etc. Those can help balance against the color of the light if you don't want to deal with setting the white balance (or, worse, forgetting to reset it).
