Be real, but celebrate!
I have to point you to this post over at Cheeky Pink Girl. If you don't want to click through, here's the gist:
CELEBRATE Christmas. It's a feast! Enjoy it! Give gifts! Be merry!
It's not just for the kids, either, and if you think it is - well, you may be the one needing a present, eh? And if you want cheering up, there's nothing like a gift to do the job.
(Be frugal if you must, but don't get all stoic and stingy about it. Don't be some kind of martyr on Christmas. Be thankful and be of good Cheer!)
But she says it better, and links to others who say it well, too. One more thing I will add. If gifts don't mean much to you, maybe you ought to think of holding back a little more on other days - but not on Christmas, or you are missing the point.
Meanwhile - a blessed Advent to you.
